e-Vehicle signed an investment agreement with the governor of Chungcheongbuk-do to break into the Korean automotive semiconductor supply chain and has become the only Taiwanese manufacturer certified by the government in the past few decades. They will work together with the strategic partners to develop the automotive semiconductor industry.

e-Vehicle Semiconductor and Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, signed a strategic investment agreement on December 21. President Jeffrey Ho and executives, along with the governor of Chungcheongbuk-do, Kim Young-hwan, deputy mayor of Cheongju, director-general for bureau of investment promotion, Cho Kyoung-soon, Lee Il-woo, VP of SK Hynix, and others attended the ceremony, the representatives of both sides took a group photo after the meeting.

Chungcheongbuk-do, located in the center of South Korea, has been a traffic hub which connects Hanyang and Yeongnam regions. Chungcheongbuk-do has been a part of the Central Cultural Circle of Korea since ancient times, and has been recognized by UNESCO as an important cultural birthplace of Korea. The economic, transportation and cultural conditions of Chungcheongbuk-do are very suitable for the development of the automotive-grade semiconductor industry.

According to the agreement, e-Vehicle will invest US$30 million between 2024 and 2028 to build an automotive sensing device semiconductor plant in the Ochang Scientific Industrial Complex in Cheongju City, Chungcheongbuk-do. e-Vehicle will be the first Taiwanese company there and receive cash subsidies and tax incentives etc.

e-Vehicle was founded in 2011 in Hsinchu Science Park by National Development Fund. The main products have been semiconductor components for electric vehicles. e-Vehicle also closely follows developments in new energy vehicles. New semiconductor components for hydrogen vehicles and others will be released in 2024.

Mr. Jeffrey Ho, Chairman of e-Vehicle, said that the signed MOU signifies the more responsibility for e-Vehicle. It’s very grateful to Chungcheongbuk-do for their strong support and cooperation with e-Vehicle in local automotive semiconductors. I will specially thank to the Governor, Mayor, Director Cho, and Director Gang for their assistance and arrangement in the past. In the future, we will work together with Chungcheongbuk-do to build the most important automotive semiconductor industrial park in the world and return to the original intention of e-Vehicle's founding.
